Orthodontic Staff Appreciation Week

June 5, 2016

Dana has been working in orthodontics for more than 30 years and I’ve been blessed to practice with her for 28 years of them. I have watched her three children grow into fine young adults. It’s been great getting to see Dana enjoy being a grandmother to Miss. Olivia, the first of many grandkids to come. Dana is passionate about life and enjoys church, horses, gardening and spending time with her family.

If there’s one thing I know for sure about Dana is she never meets a stranger. She absolutely loves people and can get a shy teenager to laugh and talk when they come into the office. She has a strong passion for orthodontics and the care we provide at our office. Her real passion is working directly with patients and helping with their clinical treatment.

Thank you, Dana, for the contributions you’ve made to Orthodontic Arts. I’m grateful for the many, many smiles you’ve helped create over the years.

-Dr. David Birdwell

Get to know Dana a little better:

What do you do for fun?
I play with my perfect granddaughter and ride my horse!

Do you have a pet and what is their name?
I’m “Blessed” with 4 dogs: Gunner, Sky, Hudson and Charlie and a wonderful horse, Dandy!

What is your favorite spot in Oklahoma City?
Church!!

If you could go anywhere on vacation in the world, where would you go?
Short list – Grand Canyon
Long List – Jerusalem

What makes you smile?
Watching my kidos and Olivia….love, love, love it!
What’s the funniest moment from the time you’ve been with Dr. Birdwell?
There have been quite a few….One day in our old office we had the Attic latter pulled down.  It came down right in the middle of the front desk area.  Dr. Birdwell was walking up to the front in a big hurry, backwards, and ran right into it.  He got a huge goose egg on his head!  We couldn’t stop laughing!
What do you love most about Orthodontic Arts?
We do what we love and with people we love! When you get that first smile from a patient after taking off their braces…priceless!

Why is having a beautiful smile important to you?
If you think about the first encounter you have with anybody, you look at their face their eyes and of course their smile….it is a first impression.
